General FAQ

  • Can we visit HEXA’s factory in China?

You’re always welcome to visit our factory in China.

We’re happy to show you around our production facilities and discuss your projects in person.

Please let us know your travel plans in advance, so we can help arrange transportation or pick-up from the airport or train station.

  • How much time does it take for HEXA to produce my game?

The total production time depends on your game’s complexity, materials, and order quantity.

Here’s a general reference for your planning:

If your game includes only printed components (such as cards, boards, rulebooks, and boxes) and your print files are finalized, the process is usually straightforward.

It typically takes about 1 week for file verification, 2 weeks for sample making and approval, and 5–6 weeks for mass production and assembly.

For games with custom plastic miniatures or special molds, the process requires additional time.

For example, a project with around 35-45 detailed miniatures and a 3000-5000 order quantity may take:

2–3 weeks for 3D file modification

2-3 week for 3D print and PU samples

1 week for shipping samples to your office

8–10 weeks for tooling process and test shots

6–8 weeks for mass production and final assembly

From our experience, projects that involve customized tooling or multiple material types often require back-and-forth adjustments.

To ensure a smooth delivery, we recommend allowing extra buffer time when scheduling your fulfillment or Kickstarter delivery date.

Prepress & Graphic Design

  • What kind of files does HEXA need for production?

For printed components such as game boxes, cards, rulebooks or boards,

please provide your artwork files in PDF or AI format, using CMYK color mode with at least 300 PPI resolution and 3–4 mm bleed on all sides.

    For text elements, make sure black text uses pure black (C 0 / M 0 / Y 0 / K 100) and is set to overprint.

For miniatures or plastic components, we require 3D files in STL format.

If your project includes hard plastics such as ABS, please provide STEP files for tooling reference.

If you’re unsure which file type to use, your HEXA project manager will guide you through the process and help ensure all files meet production standards.
